Drying and curing are not the same thing, what is the difference?

<

Drying and curing are different processes, what is the difference? In the solventless compounding process, what process is curing? How to set the curing temperature and time?

dry

In the chemical industry, drying often refers to the process of vaporizing the water (or solvent) in the material by thermal energy and taking away the generated steam with an inert gas. For example, when drying a solid, moisture (or solvent) diffuses from the inside of the solid to the surface and then vaporizes from the solid surface. For example, the process of solvent-based ink solidifies into a solid film from the fluid state after the solvent evaporates. Therefore, the drying in the printing compound is also volatile drying.

Curing

And curing refers to the chemical reaction completed by adding a cross-linking agent, for example, light curing refers to the curing process of monomer, oligomer or polymer matrix under light induction. Therefore, drying and curing are two different types.

The common curing temperature of two-component adhesives is 35 ~ 45 ℃, depending on the grade of adhesive, and it is often related to the composite structure and application occasions. The common curing time is 24-48 hours, which varies depending on the adhesive grade, composite structure and post-processing method. Generally, the curing time can be shorter when the post-processing is slitting or compounding again, and the curing time is generally longer when the post-process is bag-making.
