Gold foil paper process

<

Gold foil paper is essentially a kind of carrier plating transfer process coating film. According to the international production standards, it is divided into five general processes. The use of materials or the degree of sophistication in these five processes is also one of the important factors that determine the price difference factor in today's gold foil paper market. The specific production process is as follows:

Carrier: It is composed of polyester film or polyester film and plays a supporting role for other layers. Conventional PET polyester film is often used as a carrier for foil stamping (aluminum). The PET film was selected as the carrier layer because the PET film has the following characteristics: high temperature resistance (melting point at 170°C), easy degradation (combustible film, strong electrolysis ability, not easily causing environmental pollution), and uniaxially stretched film (pulling in the longitudinal direction) Stretch has a good ductility is not easy to break, transverse tensile easy to break) and so on. Other common such as OPP film, PVC film does not have these advantages. For example, the heat resistant temperature of the OPP film is 90° C., which is a combustion-supporting film; and the heat-resisting temperature of the PVC film is 75° C., which is a flame-retardant film and the like. Of course, the melting point temperature of the hot melt adhesive of the outer layer of the bronzing paper (aluminum) is about 90°C, which is one of the important factors that determine the choice of the PET polyester film as a gilding paper carrier.

The first coating: The first coating is called the centrifugal layer, also called the peeling layer. When hot stamping, the color material, aluminum, and adhesive layer can be rapidly separated from the PET polyester film and transferred and bonded on the surface of the hot stamped object. The materials commonly used in the peeling layer are mainly silicone oil, paraffin wax and water wax. The three substances are the same in the effect of the peeling process, but their respective physical properties determine their application range. Silicone oil is a hot-melt coating, the melting point of about 98.7 °C, spraying process is simple, its disadvantage is uneven spraying, unstable, when using hot stamping is a secondary heating, the international generally do not use silicone oil as a gold foil paper centrifugal layer; Paraffin wax has relatively stable physical properties. It requires professional spraying equipment to spray paraffin in the form of solid, powder, or mist on PET film as a stripping coating for gold foil paper. It is the most popular internationally used foil stripping paper. Coating materials; wax because of its relatively low melting point, is generally not used as a peeling coating material for hot stamping paper.

Second coating: The second coating is called the protective layer, and it mainly uses clear oil, ethyl ester, and resin as the protective coating material; this layer is mainly used to protect the role of the pigment layer and the fine aluminum plating layer, and can Increase the brightness of bronzing paper after bronzing. In order to save costs, some domestic enterprises that produce gold foil paper often save this layer or take this layer and the third layer of the pigment layer to go along the same process, so this is also a lot of domestic gold foil paper is not as bright as imported gold foil paper. One of the reasons.

The third coating: The third coating is called the imaging layer, also called the pigment layer. Mainly composed of synthetic resins and dyes, the formation of gold foil paper color, such as red, blue, green, gold, etc. determine the image of the gold foil color or color, but also a variety of foil gold foil decision elements.

Fourth coating: The fourth coating is called fine aluminum coating. The metal aluminum is formed by vacuum evaporation, cooling, sublimation and deposition. The main effect of the aluminized layer is to reflect the light, giving the dyed layer a metallic sheen. There are two kinds of commonly used aluminum plating processes. The first one is the vacuum evaporation period of aluminum plating, and the second is the aluminum plating gun. Their respective characteristics are that the evaporation cycle equipment is relatively expensive and the production process is complicated. The main use of the sublimation of the aluminum vapor makes the aluminized layer evenly and densely condensed on the PET coating film, and the aluminum plating effect is good; the aluminum plating gun device is simple and is manufactured The process is also relatively simple, the main drawback is uneven spraying, easy to produce black spots and other coating.

Fifth coating: The fifth coating is called the adhesive layer. Mainly composed of hot-melt plastic or resin, its role is to under pressure and temperature, the aluminum layer and the dyed layer, etc. bonded to the hot object. This layer is an important coating that determines the range of application and popularity of hot stamping paper. Under normal circumstances, the manufacturer can add two kinds of uncomplicated objects together by adding the secret “active bacteriocin” to the hot melt adhesive. This is also one of the important reasons for the limited range of application of domestically produced aluminum.
