The Effect of Corrugated Board Properties on Corrugated Board Strength

1. The relationship between corrugated type and corrugated board strength

According to the provisions of GBT6544-1999 standard, UV-shaped corrugated cardboard is divided into A, C, B and giant four. The height of the A type is 4.5mm-5mm, the number of units in the 300mm length unit is 32-36, the height of the C type is 3. 5mm-4mm, and the length of the 300mm unit is 36-40 units. The height of a dragonfly is 2.5mm to 3mm, and the number of turns in a 300mm length unit is 48 to 52; the height of a giant dragonfly is 1.1mm to 2mm, and the number of turns in a 300mm length unit is 92 to 100. The A-type corrugated corrugation is high and wide, so it is called a large-scale type. The paperboard of A type has poorer plane pressure performance than B and C type, but it has higher vertical pressure resistance, so it is more suitable for making paperboard containing non-pressure-resistant items. The crucible height and the number of turns per unit length of the C-shaped paperboard, and its performance, are between the A and B crucible types, and it is also known as the fine crucible type, which is suitable for containing general items. B-type corrugated medium is low and dense, so its vertical pressure resistance is poor, but its flat pressure resistance is high. Therefore, B-type paper is suitable for bottled foods. The large-sized cardboard corrugated cardboard is low and delicate, and it is also called a miniature enamel. E-type cardboard has a light weight, slow; good performance, good flat compressive strength, etc., conducive to direct printing. The three types of corrugated paperboards A, C, and B can also be combined into double corrugated paperboards and triple corrugated paperboards to greatly increase the strength of the paperboard. Most non-compressible products such as cigarettes and glass containers are packed in corrugated cardboard with multi-layered structures that are resistant to pressure and are resistant to impact.

2. The relationship between corrugated shape and corrugated board strength

Corrugated shape (also called waveform) refers to the shape of the upper and lower ends of the corrugated medium and its edge line. Corrugated cardboard has a certain influence on the compressive strength of cardboard. The corrugated corrugated shape is U-shaped, V-shaped, and UV-shaped. The U-shaped ridges are arc-shaped. This type of corrugated cardboard has good cushioning and elasticity. The slight deformation of the corrugated ridges can be quickly restored and the cul-de-sac does not break easily. However, the pressure it receives is worse than that of V-shaped cardboard, and the amount of core paper and adhesive is large. The V-shaped ridges are triangular in shape, and the 楞-shape is composed of straight lines. The intersection of two straight lines forms a rake angle of 60°. V-shaped corrugated board has a small amount of core paper and adhesive, and has strong and durable good characteristics. Its flat compressive strength is significantly higher than that of a U-shaped cardboard, but once it has been deformed under pressure, it will be difficult to restore it. The UV-shaped crucible is compatible with the advantages of V and U-shape, making up for their own defects, able to withstand higher pressures, and greatly improving the strength of the paperboard.

Effect of Corrugated Roller on Corrugated Board Strength

1. Corrugated roller defects

When corrugated roller shaft heads and bearings are worn or damaged, causing corrugated roll loosening, poor parallelism, and damage to crucibles, flattening, collapse, high and low blemishes, degumming, blistering, and reduced thickness of corrugated cardboard tend to occur. Quality issues. In addition, the old single-sided machine, the guide sheet wear and dirt, and the gap with the corrugated roll is too large, it is easy to cause the corrugated paper to jump, resulting in poor adhesion and high and low defects. The existence of all these undesirable phenomena will reduce the compressive strength of the board. In this regard, the corresponding measures shall be taken in accordance with the location where the failure phenomenon occurs.

When a corrugated roll groove is stuck on a foreign material, the corrugated cardboard may be deflected, collapsed, or collapsed. This may cause poor adhesion. At the same time will reduce the strength of cardboard. In this regard, the debris of the corrugated roll grooving should be cleaned to better solve the problem.

2. solution

The new corrugating roller generally suppresses corrugation peaks and corrugation heights to meet the requirements of the quality standards; but after one-time use, the corrugating roll wears, and the peak deformation and the corrugation height are also reduced, and the suppressed corrugated strength cannot reach the high standard quality. Claim. The reason analysis and solution are shown in Table 3.
