Therefore, in the entire color management process, the color profile of the printer must be You have to do it first, and then you can do it forward and down, and continue to deduce a parameter you should get for each process. So the process we do is to use an electronic manuscript of IT8-7 / 3 to directly feed into the film output machine, print it into a plate or use CTP to directly make a printing plate, and use a standard printing condition on the printing machine. This printing condition is based on SID (Full version of ink density), and DG (dot expansion) to control, these two parameters must first set the common values ​​produced in general factories, in this setting to obtain the color profile of the printing machine, In the IT8-7 / 3 manuscript, there are a total of 928 color blocks, which can be obtained by using a colorimeter to obtain the color description file of the printing press.

(2) In addition, we use the inkjet proofing machine to make the proofing of the printing machine directly in the simulation of the printing machine. In this part, we must first make a "linear correction" in the SID and DG parts of the inkjet proofing machine. Let the inkjet proofing machine conform to the color gamut that our printing machine can print, and this "linear correction" is based on the common values ​​of printing production mentioned before, otherwise the proof of inkjet proofing may be impossible for the printing machine. Printed color, after this process, we can get Proofer Profile (inkjet color profile)

(3) The screen is a basis for everyone to see the file. We can use some tools to make the color description file of the screen. Its main structure is the use of LED light, through the filter to receive different color stimulation values ​​X , Y, Z, generate the screen color description file, record the screen's color recording ability.

So far, we have only made three color description files, recording the color recording capabilities of three different devices, including printing presses, inkjet proofers, and screens. After all three parameters are available, a process of digital proofing begins.

(4) The so-called digital proofing is to use the original digital file, through the inkjet RIP, and this RIP must have the ability to input the source file and respond to the final print output of the device characteristic description file. Therefore, the process of digital proofing is that you give it a source and a destination, and it can use inkjet proofing to simulate the results of printing; the same can be done for inkjet proofing machines and screens, as long as the destination just It is the inkjet color description file. The destination is the screen color description file, and you can predict the printing result on Photshop.

(5) We can also use an interface of the browser to directly do remote proofing of the file. The structure is to use the original printed file to reduce its DPI number. Use the remote screen to open this file, that is, use the browse Interface, but currently only Internet Explorer for Mac operating system can be used for color comparison with ColorSync under Mac. Windows operating system can't be used for color comparison on PC.

What is a good process? And in this process, all color problems can be solved. Under the premise that your profile has been completed and the equipment has reached a stable state, after all aspects are ready, simply As far as color management is concerned, the process is in the form of Profile to Profile, for example: one of your images is to be printed on a printing machine, proofed on an inkjet printer, and C, M, Y is passed through the CMM. The K value converted to L *, a *, b * values ​​should be the same, that is to say, the color of a picture printed by the printer should be the same as the effect printed by the printer. The realization of CMS It is very simple, but in production, it is impossible to do this for every piece. You must use some auxiliary tools to achieve the purpose of color management.

(1) The scheduled image already knows which printer to print on, and knows the profile of the printer, the profile of the workbench screen of the PC or Mac, and the profile of the printer they use is already known on the design side. In the production process, after our entire file passes through RIP, the layout is generated, and CIP3 is generated and thrown to the printing machine to do a data control of each part of the ink. At the same time, the Press Profile and Proofer Profile are brought into each part for color exchange and lost. Give a proofer, you can get a digital proofing of a simulated printing machine, and then through some Internet mechanisms, whether it is a full page or a single image, you can predict the printed color on a remote machine, this is The ideal framework for the entire color management.

We must consider the existing architecture, existing equipment or the cost of investment in the process. All RIP methods that have the following CMS processes:
