The current situation and development trend of gravure ink

<

1. Characteristics of various inks

With the continuous improvement of the living standards of domestic people, in recent years, there has been a rapid development in packaging and printing. It has also raised people's awareness of environmental protection. As an ink, its basic function is to give people the information they need through certain equipment.

1) Classification of ink

In order to meet the needs of various printing methods and printing applications, there are a wide variety of inks with different physical and chemical properties, and great performance differences. A clear classification is a prerequisite for good ink.

â‘  Classified by drying method. When the printing ink is transferred from the printing plate to the surface of the substrate, the ink will change from a liquid to a solid film. This is the drying of the ink. The drying of the ink has physical and chemical effects.

a. Oxidative polymerization drying ink. The resin in the ink reacts with oxygen in the air to make the resin solidify and cross-link to form a network structure and dry.

b. Penetrate dry ink. The ink penetrates into porous materials such as paper to dry.

c. Volatile dry ink. This type of ink contains a lot of volatile solvents. After printing onto the surface of the substrate, the solvent evaporates into the atmosphere. The remaining resin and pigment in the ink together form a solid film layer and attach to the surface of the substrate.

d. Radiation drying ink. Radiation drying is a drying method in which ink relies on the energy of radiation to cause the molecules of the ink binder to polymerize and change from liquid to solid. The main reason is that some substances in the ink absorb energy to generate free radicals, which cause the unsaturated double bond reaction in the ink resin to crosslink and cure.

e. Other dry inks. There are a variety of other drying methods, including wet coagulation drying, condensation drying, precipitation drying, two-component reaction drying, gelation drying, etc.

â‘¡Classify by printing method

a. Lithographic printing ink

b. Letterpress printing ink

c. Flexographic printing ink

d. Gravure printing ink

e. stencil printing ink

â‘¢ Gravure ink classification. The inks used for gravure printing are mainly classified according to usage, and are divided into publishing inks, packaging inks, and industrial inks.

The inks used in composite flexible packaging materials basically belong to the category of packaging and printing inks, and are the species we are most concerned about.

2) Composition of ink

Printing ink is a paste-like colloid made by uniformly dispersing and mixing materials such as coloring materials, connecting materials and fillers. The color material gives the printing a variety of colors, the connecting material serves as a carrier for the color material, and also acts as an adhesive to surround the color material on the surface of the substrate. The filler gives the ink appropriate properties to make the ink meet the printability of various printing processes . The liquid components in the ink are called binders, solid component colorants and various additives.

The gravure printing ink is roughly composed of 5% to 15% pigment, 20% to 40% binder resin, 0% to 60% solvent, and 0 to 5% additive.

2. Current status of domestic and foreign inks

1) Domestic gravure ink

At present, domestic surface printing inks are divided into general flexible packaging (such as shopping bags, maternal and child hygiene products) ink (this ink is mainly benzene-soluble polyamide resin PA), cigarette pack ink (mainly nitrocellulose resin NC) and carton Ink (water-based ink), and more than 70% of composite inks are BOPP special inks based on chlorinated polypropylene (CLPP), 10-20% are polyurethane (PU) inks, and some are PVB alcohols. Soluble ink.

Due to factors such as price, different materials and different packaging use different inks. According to the printing house, there are many types of inks, many stocks, and delivery is also very easy to delay.
2) Foreign gravure ink

Japan and Europe and the United States, because of different packaging requirements, so the ink system is also very different, a small number of advertising newspapers in Japan for rotary flexographic printing. Most of the sanitary products are gravure printing (the ink is gradually changed from benzene to benzene-free (fatty hydrocarbon solvent) system, cigarette packs are also mainly gravure, and the composite packaging bags are benzene-soluble polyurethane (turn to benzene-free) system, CLPP system It has basically disappeared. In the field of composite packaging, general-purpose inks account for a large proportion. In addition to composite packaging bags in Europe and the United States, the other is mainly flexo. (Water-based or alcohol-soluble) Even composite packaging is mainly alcohol-soluble HC + PU. Therefore, in Europe and the United States color paste + resin solution, this solution is very common.

3) Development trend of domestic gravure ink

In recent years, domestic ink consumption has been increasing at a rate of 10-20%, much higher than low-grade inks. It is foreseeable that people's requirements for ink quality will exceed the price in the near future. At the same time, while continuously introducing printing equipment, people will also try to use foreign management models to manage their workshops and gradually integrate with developed regions.

It is foreseeable that with the development of the universal type of ink or color paste + resin liquid system, the production of ink will also move toward the direction of scale. The final mode will be: on the one hand, mass production in the factory, on the other hand , 24/7 technical service of printing ink factory staff.

How to reach the goal requires a long process. One step to the final state is not very realistic. At present, there are already some big printing factories that are doing this work, and we are also cooperating. It is foreseeable that there will be a satisfactory harvest in the near future.

Digital Printer is capable of printing on black, red, white and any color T-Shirts, and other materials,color-printing without silk screen and printing plate. It can accomplish printing white, gradient color picture at once. No color fading and comfortable handle. Digital printer accords with the international universal standard and uses green environmental protective inks which completely reach to the highest European quality inspection standard.
