Purple laser CTP version overview and imaging principle

Violet laser CTP technology has received unprecedented attention from printing and related industries because of its advantages of faster speed, higher precision and longer laser life. Across the world, a wave of research and development for purple laser CTP technology has been launched. In recent years, although there have been two major technical disputes in the CTP field: photosensitive and thermal, the emergence of new photopolymerization plates and higher-power diodes has made purple lasers in the newspaper industry CTP market with thermal and UV The juxtaposition of technology. Due to the superiority of violet laser CTP technology, in the field of visible light CTP, there has been a shift to violet laser technology. The imaging process of the purple laser CTP version can be divided into four steps: exposure, pre-baking, water washing and development (as shown below).

1. Exposure

In the exposure stage, the sensitizing dye in the coating absorbs laser energy, and the molecule transitions from the ground state to the excited state. The initiator is sensitized by energy transfer or electron transfer, thereby decomposing to generate free radicals to initiate polymerization.

2. Pre-bake

The purpose of pre-baking is to make the cured coating (graphic area) after exposure to further cure under high temperature conditions, increase the dissolution contrast of graphic area and non-graphic area, improve the strength of graphic area and increase printing resistance.

3. Wash

The purpose of water washing is to remove the water-soluble oxygen barrier layer on the surface of the photosensitive CTP plate before development. In order to ensure rapid removal, the thickness of the protective layer should be controlled within a certain range.

4. Development

Uncured areas are removed to produce an image. It is worth noting that the photopolymerization plate often needs to be wiped with a brush during the development process, and the pressure of the brush on the plate surface should be strictly controlled.
