Hotel G

Singapore

AEDAS Singapore - Creative Thinking

The hotel was designed to engage with its surroundings by integrating the bar and restaurant seamlessly with the street. Large glass screens allow the bustling town scene to flow into the restaurant, creating an inviting atmosphere that draws in passersby and fosters a sense of community. The ceilings are deliberately left exposed, giving the spaces a raw, industrial charm. All areas are designed to be highly functional—whether it's for dining or providing hotel guests with a place to plug in and work at the long communal tables.

The guest room corridors present an opportunity to craft a cityscape-inspired design that is uniquely tied to the hotel's identity. Tailor-made furniture is used throughout, adding a personal touch to every aspect of the design.

Sandcrawler

Singapore

AEDAS Singapore - Creative Thinking

AEDAS Singapore designed this iconic office building known as the Sandcrawler, named by the Lucasfilm animators who moved into the structure. The nine-story building boasts a distinctive V-shaped plan, with the core positioned near the base of the V to accommodate the site's unique shape and allow the surrounding landscape to flow underneath the building.

The tapered wings house offices and extend up to 19 meters at their ends. On the fifth and sixth floors, there's a double-height space featuring a 100-seat cinema, adorned with a giant, reflective black version of Darth Vader's helmet. The top floor resembles a warehouse with a high, sloping ceiling, crisscrossed with pipes and an enigmatic staircase. The slope mirrors the roof's design, dictated by the master planning regulations of the site.
