The present invention relates to a stencil printing apparatus, and more particularly, to a technique for reducing the labor required for mistakenly evacuation of paper by mistake. When the paper discharge sensor 29 is in the open state during the period from the detection of the paper conveyance error to the complete stop of the printing operation, the control section 40 determines that the paper is not curled up on the drum 17 by the printing paper 19 . Instead of the error, a paper ejection error of the printing paper 19 remaining in the paper discharge unit 5 occurs. Therefore, in order to restart the printing operation, the operator does not need to perform the operation of pulling out the drum, even though there is actually no printing paper in the apparatus. Therefore, the labor required for the error removal work can be reduced.
