Open Patellar Knee Joint--NS-H3 Kneepads Evaluation Report
Thanks for the cool equipment, and a big thank you to Maichu Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. For outdoor enthusiasts, especially those who enjoy sports like mountaineering, the fear of physical injuries caused by intense activities is real. Many people have had to give up their favorite outdoor activities due to knee injuries. Among all the risks, the knees are particularly vulnerable during mountain climbing, making them a common source of pain and long recovery times.
The knee joint is one of the most complex and critical parts of the body. It’s not only essential for movement but also prone to injury. When injured, it can be extremely painful and slow to heal. In some cases, people may even experience persistent discomfort or aching. The knee connects the upper and lower leg bones, with a meniscus in the middle and a patella (kneecap) in front. The patella is held in place by muscles and ligaments and can easily shift out of position during strenuous activities like climbing.
During mountain climbing, excessive pressure on the knees can lead to misalignment or injury. This is where knee pads come into play. They help keep the kneecap in a stable position, reducing the risk of damage and providing support during tough terrain.
I recently tested the NS-H3 sweat-absorbing four-spring silicone knee pads from Maichu Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. The evaluation was divided into five sections: product information, product details, real-life trial scenarios, personal experience, and a video demonstration.
First, the product information:
- Product Name: Young (æ¼¾)
- Material: Neoprene
- Size: 46" x 56" x 19" cm
- Features: Built-in ventilation, silicone non-slip, four spring assist, two levels of protection
The NS-H3 knee pads are designed for outdoor adventurers. They use advanced protective materials and feature reinforced areas to prevent lateral displacement. The improved Velcro allows for adjustable tightness, ensuring a secure fit during intense activities.
In terms of design, the front has a hollow circular gasket and an open-hole structure that improves stability and reduces discomfort caused by improper force. The breathable fabric is soft and comfortable, with holes for better airflow and quick-drying properties. The three-band Velcro system offers customizable support, helping to cushion the joints and improve overall knee stability.
The four metal springs provide additional rebound support, while double-row silicone strips ensure the pad stays in place during movement. The fabric used is imported from DuPont's COOL MAX OK material, known for its breathability, stretch, and durability.
During my trials, I used these knee pads on several occasions. On July 19th, I walked along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou. The soft sand and grass were gentle on the knees, so wearing the pads felt a bit hot and uncomfortable. However, for longer hikes or risky terrains, they proved useful.
On July 29th, I climbed Mount Wuyishan's Tianyou Peak. The narrow paths made it hard on the knees, but with the knee pads, I felt much more supported. Later, on July 30th, I hiked through the Tianxi and Huxiaoyan areas, which had steep volcanic rock steps. My knees felt sore, but the pads helped reduce discomfort significantly.
Overall, the NS-H3 knee pads offer good support and comfort. They are ideal for those with existing knee issues or for long treks. However, if you don't have specific knee problems, it's best to use them selectively, as overuse might cause local compression or sweating, leading to fatigue.
The video demonstration further showcased the product’s features and ease of use.
