According to insiders, a flexible packaging supplier has introduced an innovative composite barrier film designed specifically for modified atmosphere packaging in food shrink boxes. This new composite film has achieved significant advancements in both barrier properties and visual appeal.

The key feature of this newly developed barrier film is the use of polyethylene (PE) as the outer layer of the composite film. This not only enhances the film’s ability to protect food from external elements but also ensures a longer shelf life. Additionally, the PE layer contributes to a more attractive and clear display, making it ideal for retail environments where product visibility is crucial.

The company's sales manager shared that the development process took nearly a year, from concept to final production. The composite film comes in various thicknesses ranging from 300 to 500 microns, with widths between 360 and 600 microns. It has already been launched on the market and is being used across a wide range of food packaging applications. Notably, it is especially well-suited for meat products due to its excellent moisture and oxygen barrier properties, ensuring freshness and quality throughout the supply chain.
